Innomente-Led Research Wins Best Paper Award at IFIP SEC 2026
Innomente-led research has won the Best Paper Award at IFIP SEC 2026, the 41st IFIP International Conference on ICT Systems Security and Privacy Protection. Held in Perth, Australia in June, the paper earned the highest review scores of any submission and was selected unanimously by the award committee.
The winning paper, "Hop-Decayed Influence: New Vulnerabilities of Structural Auxiliary Indexing in GraphRAG Pipelines with LLMs," was led by researcher Jisung Park in collaboration with the University of Wollongong's Institute for Cybersecurity and Cryptology (iC2).
The research exposes a previously unknown weakness in GraphRAG, the graph-based retrieval architecture increasingly used in LLM-powered services. The team showed that the graph indices these systems rely on can be quietly manipulated to steer what a model retrieves and generates, often without detection.
